The economy is starting to open up, but the “new normal” we always heard about means new challenges for your business. We would love to hear how you are feeling about your business is making it through in the poll below.

With the hope that society will be back to normal soon, how confident are you in your "post-COVID" business?

Next steps based on your answer:

“I got this!”

Great that you feel your business is ready for the “new normal”. However, reality can differ from how we feel (in fact, we are finalizing our next book on this topic). Were there fixes to problems that arose, last year, that became official policy, or will things slip back to pre-COVID? It may be a good time to take a look at your operating procedures or your operations manual again. Now’s a great time to update what you learned and take it into the future.

“I have a few questions but I’m very optimistic.”

That’s great… but what’s your plan? Might we suggest running a new Strategic Planning session? Now might also be a great time to consider your company’s competitive advantage. Some of your competition will be battered and bruised, others will have come out stronger. Now is a good to time find out.

“There are still a lot of questions but I should be able to power through.”

Yet again, SWOT analysis and a Strategic Plan are great ideas for you right now. Having real, actionable plans means you’ll hit the ground running. Also, take a look at the expectations you have for your team. If they have been working sporadically, they might have some trouble getting “back to business.”

“I’m really worried!”

When your business has been through so much, you need to step back, take a breath, and create objective plans. If you were a client of ours, we would start with a SWOT analysis and use it to build plans… strategic plans. Learn what goes into one of our restart assessments.

“It is just a matter of time…”

We can’t be sorry enough to hear that your business has gotten to this point but there may still be hope. We would suggest thinking about your business as a startup again. Head over to our New to Business section and read through some of our educational material for startups. Of course, you have much more experience than a startup but the insights still apply.
